Crime Busting
Community or self-policing is an extremely effective force to beat criminal activity in the neighbourhood. Standing together in a community, being vigilant, and sharing experiences and reporting of suspicious behaviour is a great weapon against crime.
We are lucky to have an association such as LaMarg and I encourage those residents to attend the upcoming CPF meeting on Teusday. (It is held at the Sea Tides Library on the first Tuesday of every month. It starts promptly at 5 and ends and 6.00 pm.)
Reports this week:
It seems that crime is on the rise in La Mercy again, I have just heard of two incidents today and one about a week ago.
Incidents today were on Candle Glow Drive, « suspected vehicle » is a WHITE AUDI – ND 391, interesting that we observed a suspicious WHITE AUDI in the area previously with NUR plates.
Suggest we all keep a high alert again, incidents have all occured during the day, even whilst people were at home.

Yesterday morning at about 4.45am a white station wagon vehicle ( not certain of model ) was outside my home ( Eden Rose Walk), as soon as I went out onto the balcony the vehicle sped off.

And I suggest that perhaps at other non-security meetings, example temple, church, or general society meetings that an announcement calling for more volunteers for our neighbourhood watch be made.
That would take some load of us and also then it may be possible to schedule more patrols.

Opportunist’s and criminals are utilising “Spotters” during the day and night to identify easy break-in targets and/or to pick up their loot that they have hidden in bushes. Report suspicious people hanging around for no reason in residential areas, car parks or businesses and Please be on the look out for these signs and phone the Police and Armed Response.
CRIME TIPS
• Ensure that your valuables are secured, your house is properly locked, windows closed and alarm set before going to work/ town or visit friends.
• Easy to grab and run items like iPod’s, laptops, tablets or any other electronics equipment must be secured or locked away when not in use.
• Report loitering in your area or people roaming around for no reason OR stop and ask what they are looking for.
